Arsenal Football Academy is the football development department for Arsenal Football Club, based at Hale End Sports Ground and London-Colney, offering a full-time football training programme for elite youth players. The Academy has for many years been a world leader in its field and its aim is to individually tailor each player’s development as a footballer by providing a world Class youth development programme.The programme promotes the development of elite training environments to consistently outperform international competition.By placing players at the heart of the programme, the aim is to develop and grow Strong Young Gunners, within the most challenging and caring football academy in the world. Each player’s development is therefore considered holistically with focus placed on supporting players to show Respect, Discipline and Humility as they aspire towards becoming better people and consequently, better players.

The Academy’s High Performance Department is a multi-disciplinary team, focused on ensuring that the physical and physiological development of players is delivered to the highest of standards.The department’s ultimate goal is to enable the payers to prepare, perform, and recover optimally. Resulting in increased player availability and players more often exceeding individual performance norms leading to respective optimal team performance outcomes

We are searching for an Academy Performance Nutritionist to maximise the Academy players’ performance and recovery primarily through nutrition (and other means) while interacting within our multi-disciplinary department to ensure an optimal approach to player development. Reporting into the Head of Academy Performance and mentored by the First Team/U23 Performance Nutritionist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the nutritional support and education of all relevant Academy players. The successful candidate will be required to work an average of five days out of seven between the Academy’s sites at Hale End and London Colney, plus occasional weekend days to oversee and check on nutritional provision.

    I am a highly driven BSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition student with strong leadership and communication skills developed through a range of teaching and coaching roles. I have been a head coach of an under 9 football team, a teaching assistant and a volunteer in a school in Thailand. I am passionate about sport and would relish the opportunity to evolve these skills to further progress as a nutritional practitioner. I am a self-motivated, hardworking individual who is passionate to remain enthusiastic and succeed in everything I do.

    Recent experience

    September – Present: Sport Science Intern – Birmingham City FC

    • In charge of preparing and delivering warmups
    • Responsible for player wellbeing and development
    • Responsible for monitoring and uploading GPS data through Stats Sport
    • Recently completed nutritional case study linked directly to a u18 academy one player

    • Excellent ICT and design skills; with experience having created data analysis presentations and infographics to further enhance athlete’s knowledge.
    • Outstanding planning and organisational skills; time management skills improved through balancing studying and part-time work.
    • Work effectively in a team whereby I can communicate and engage with others positively, but constructively.
    • Strong communication skills: attained through cooperation with students as well as my interaction with those of severe and complex needs.
    • Leadership skills: developed through various teaching experiences that has allowed me to monitor the welfare and security of others.
    • Suitable understanding of football; played for Cardiff City advanced development academy that enables me to technically communicate and promote the sport to players.
