First Team Manager – LFC Women

Liverpool FC Women is a key part of LFC`s long-term strategy. It`s board of directors are represented by Fenway Sports Group, the Chief Executive Officer of Liverpool Football Club and LFC`s Communications Director & Executive Director of Liverpool FC Women.

The role of the Team Manager is to lead and inspire a successful team, creating a high-performing culture which encompasses the philosophy of The Liverpool Way. The Manager is the inspirational heartbeat of LFC Women that drives the development of young and experienced players with a clear vision and passion for success in the women`s game. Using the four-corner model, the Manager will excel in driving the quality of the team`s performance and instil a winning mentality throughout every member of the team for success on the pitch.

Off the pitch, the Manager is a leading figurehead within Liverpool FC and is a high-profile ambassador, representing the Club alongside some of the most famous names in the footballing world, including the Men`s Team Manager, current and former players, and LFC Colleagues.

Working as the First Team Manager for Liverpool Women`s Football Club:

You will join the Club at a crucial phase in the build and development of our women`s team, and will lead on our overall football philosophy, maximise our player capability as well as collaborate and utilise our strong multi-disciplinary teams to ultimately deliver success on the pitch. The clear but simple aim is to re-establish ourselves as pivotal players in the WSL, to be competitive in all tournaments and challenge for trophies.

What will you be doing?

The role is varied but will include:

-Building and sustaining a strong performing and successful first team
-Advocating and ensuring high standards of coaching delivery across the First Team, Academy U21 and youth teams taking into account current elite best practice
-Leading the player recruitment strategy in line with budgets
-Implementing a training programme in line with LTPD guidelines
-Developing and overseeing a continuous professional development programme, to include a comprehensive mentoring strategy, for coaches and support staff involved within the Club
-Ensuring the Club adheres to The FA standards for safeguarding children
-Formal monitoring and evaluation of player and coach performance of the Club
-Representing the Club at relevant FA WSL / WC meetings
-Ensuring the Club adhere to The FA regulations and league rules
-Ensuring the Club adheres to Respect guidelines
-Maintaining positive relations with key International staff and external bodies
-Supporting the aims and objectives of the England international development pathway from youth teams to senior team

Who are we looking for?

To apply you will need to hold an UEFA A licence and be an FA Licensed Coach and have experience in elite football. Ideally you be an advocate of women`s football recognising the importance of blending the development of youth with the application of experience. You will have natural leadership skills and be able to apply your skills within a high profile and challenging environment. You will have fantastic interpersonal skills with the ability to get the best out of and develop others, players and staff alike.

You will have an understanding of diversity and equality challenges in football and show a commitment to furthering your knowledge.
