Video Analyst – Crystal Palace

Job Purpose

To aid the Recruitment Analysis Department in the recruitment of players through watching and analysing matches on video, and production of video content to be presented to senior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Watching/analysing matches on video across a number of European and global leagues using industry-specific software, such as SportsCode and Coach Paint
  • Immersion in various leagues around the world (being up to date on news, match highlights, transfer rumours, etc.)
  • Contribution to the identification of new transfer targets through both video work and reports
  • Maintain a video database of short-term and long-term transfer targets
  • Production of video content for presentation to senior members of staff
  • Communication with members of the scouting network in order to ensure the smooth flow of the scouting process

General Responsibilities

  • Contribute ideas to the continual development of the scouting and recruitment process
  • Ad hoc tasks as may be reasonably expected (e.g. tasks surrounding the transfer window)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Video Analyst

Person Specification

Essential: 

  • Strong knowledge of football, including European and global leagues
  • Proficient in both Windows and Mac operating systems, including the use of software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Keynote
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of using video analysis/ editing/ telestration software, such as SportsCode, Coach Paint (or equivalent, although training will be provided)
