Pre-Season Periodization in Soccer
- Why to periodize in the pre-season?
Any Soccer team has a Way of Playing associated with it.
The profile of any team’s Way of Playing will always be the result of the type and dynamics of the interactions between its elements.
All interactions between the players that make up the team will be the consequence of a Coach Game Idea; but also, of the applied Training Methodology
I consider that these two conditions are fundamental to define the true reason why there is a Game Idea and a certain Training Methodology: to create a Direction to follow!
Planning with a structured direction will allow the Coach to know which way he is going and above all to ensure that the team knows the principles of his Game Idea.
It becomes key that all elements of the team, understand the process, to achieve a certain objective.
Nowadays, periodizing contents in pre-season has a very different orientation, compared to what was practiced a few decades ago. The priorities regarding periodization have changed and we will talk about these changes in this course.
With this course, I intend to make us reflect on our practices so that each of us can change, modify, correct or even consolidate our orientations and work dynamics, in order to move to the next level!!
