GIVING SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
Using imperatives gives you the ability to use clear and simple English.
In this first class we discover how you can use imperatives to instruct players, for example ‘GET BACK‘
Take a look at the video to understand how this can be used.
MAKING AN IMPERATIVE
An imperative is an instructive phrase starting with a verb – “GO INTO THE DEFENCE”
The phrase is direct and allows coaches, players, analysts and scouts to get their message across clearly and simply.
OTHER EXAMPLES
- ‘GET FORWARD’
- ‘DROP OFF’
- ‘SIT BACK’
